Nationwide Boiler's inventory has recently increased with the addition of two used boilers purchased from the Oakland Airport.  Boiler number one, built in 2011 is a 250 HP, 150 psig Hurst boiler.  The second boiler Boiler is a 350 HP, 150 psig Cleaver-Brooks boiler, built in 2004.

Both boilers took a short ride to Nationwide Boiler's headquarters in Fremont and will be thoroughly inspected and reconditioned as needed for use as part of Nationwide Boiler's rental fleet or added to Nationwide Boiler's inventory for sale.

If you have used equipment you are looking to sell quality used boiler equipment, contact Nationwide Boiler today or complete Nationwide Boiler's "We Buy Used Contact Form".

Chicken of the Sea, the company with the ionic mermaid logo, selected Nationwide Boiler Inc. to supply the company’s new Lyons, GA canning plant with a 650 HP (22,500 lbs/hr) Mobile Boiler Room for temporary steam. The 200,000 square-foot facility was planned to help in the creation of 200 jobs around Toombs County and plans to process frozen tuna loins into Chicken of the Sea canned tuna.

Nationwide Boiler's Rental Sales Manager, Michael Medina, helped secure the order, noting the positive effect the new plant will have on the local economy. "This new plant is a major accomplishment for Chicken of the Sea and the surrounding community. We are proud that our boiler will allow the plant to efficiently produce their tuna and quickly bring it to market throughout the United States.”

The mobile boiler room was on site for one-year and easily met the steam requirements of the plant. Today, the Chicken of the Sea plant is still operating strong and is proud to bring manufacturing back in the U.S.

Improper water treatment is one of the leading causes of poor boiler performance and can cause boiler tube damage that is irreversible. This is because hard water, or mineral rich water, can result in scale on boiler watersides. This scale is undesirable in water systems because it acts as an insulator and prevents proper heat transfer. Scale deposits of just 1/16” thick can decrease boiler efficiency by 20% and can lead to premature boiler failure and costly downtime.

To avoid this scenario, water softening is a widely-used and economical type of pre-treatment for boiler system. A water softener is an ion exchanger designed to remove the positively charged ions and replace them with sodium or potassium exchanger ions. Hard water contains the positively charged ions magnesium, calcium and iron. The water softening process nearly frees the water from these minerals and decreases the risk of tube scaling and irreversible boiler damage. Water softening, when combined with a reliable water treatment chemical program and blowdown schedule, can lead to many years of reliable boiler system performance.

We’ve installed duplex water softening systems in all of our mobile boiler rooms and mobile steam plants to ensure optimal boiler performance. We also have larger skid-mounted duplex water softeners available for rent or purchase. For more information on products and services available, visit our website at www.nationwideboiler.com.
