Nationwide Boiler’s Service Manager, Michael Rosmando, has been wearing blue laces on his boots for over a year. So we asked – what’s with the shoelaces?

In November of 2013, Flint and Tinder launched The Blue Lace Project. This project was created to raise awareness to American retailers that consumers are interested in buying domestically made products.

Flint and Tinder partnered with one of the last shoe lace manufacturers in the USA to offer a braided, triple high density waxed canvas shoe lace with an aluminum tip – a premium product made in the USA. This shoe lace is so strong; it can pull a 13,000 lb truck! In addition, every 20,000 laces sold creates one job in the manufacturing process.

“Lacing up blue lets American manufacturers -- the men and women fighting to innovate and bring better-built products to market at a time when their competitors undercut them by cutting corners abroad -- know you appreciate the war they're fighting daily.”

You don’t see many domestically made products on the shelves anymore, however Nationwide’s CataStak™ SCR system is 100% made in the USA.

We support American made, and you should too! Check out the Blue Lace Project website for more information.

Nationwide Boiler will be exhibiting at the 2015 Fuel Ethanol Workshop and Expo (FEW) on June 1-4 in Minneapolis, MN. Our Bill Testa and Jim Barbeau will be available at booth #1232 to discuss your rental and permanent boiler needs and will be on hand to answer questions related to Nationwide Boiler’s large stock inventory of new and reconditioned boilers to customers in the ethanol industry.

As the largest and longest running ethanol conference in the world, FEW offers presentations, networking forums, and round-table discussions to exhibitors and attendees focused on commercial-scale ethanol production. This year’s event will host a panel of industry professionals discussing the long anticipated 2014 Renewable Volume Obligation Requirements, which will be released June 1. This session will provide attendees with the industry’s first reaction to this critical administrative decision. Additional topics will be addressed at this forum, and you can find a full conference agenda on the FEW website.

We hope to see you there!

Nationwide Boiler's 35th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was a great success, with a donation of $60,000 to the ABMA Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund. The ABMA noted that this was the largest amount ever donated to the ABMA!

Nearly 50 golfers arrived at Pebble Beach early Wednesday to take part in a practice round at Poppy Hills Golf Course, followed by our traditional Clam Bake Buffet reception that night. Tournament play commenced on Thursday at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Golfers raved about the scenic view and great experience offered by both courses.

Thursday night over 100 guests joined Nationwide for a Mardi Gras themed awards banquet and reception to celebrate 35 years donating to a charitable cause. The men's low gross winner, Justin Hoose, took home a beautiful crystal trophy while Angela McGowan took home the first place crystal for the women. A $1,000 card raffle was held, as well as a silent and live auction containing various items generously donated by Nationwide Boiler's customers, vendors, representatives and colleagues. Additional funds were collected through cart and hole sponsors, as well as mulligan sales the day of the tournament.

We hope that all who attended enjoyed their time at Pebble Beach, and want to thank all involved once again for your support.

Next year we will continue our tradition with tournament golf at the Pebble Beach Golf Links and lodging at the Inn at Spanish Bay. Save the date - May 4 - 5, 2016. We hope to see you there!

To learn more about this year's tournament as well as the scholarship opportunities offered by the ABMA, check out our latest press release!
